I know, I actually remembered!
1. Zoning out on the treadmill. It’s another ice day here, so I’m working from home again. I’m not complaining though, I love working from home. It also meant that I could run during lunch, and not have to wake up super early. Around 11:30 I got dressed and we went down the gym, with a plan to run just 3 or 4 miles. I’m counting songs, figuring each song is between 3 and 4 minutes. After 12 songs, I figured I had been at it for around 42 minutes or so. When I removed the towel covering the screen, I saw this:
Oops indeed. Technically it said 5.9 miles and 52 minutes, but I finished up and stopped at 6. Considering my long run on Saturday was 7 miles, this wasn’t ideal but I’ll take it. I just have to re-evaluate my other two runs this week, or I risk doing too much mileage too soon.
2. I hate recipes. More to the point, I hate it when I follow a recipe and yet the result is less than stellar. It’s even more annoying when it’s a recipe I have done many times before. Something just isn’t right with my dish! Grr!
Thankfully my friends don’t have this problem, as their dishes from last night’s Mardi Gras dinner (technically Lundi Gras I guess). Shrimp ettoufe, seafood gumbo, red beans and rice and a king cake. All delicious and reminded me of my time in New Orleans. Thanks for the invite C and S!
