Another week down, one more closer to the Kentucky Derby half marathon. I’ve got a solid chance at getting sub-2 at this one, given the flat course, but weather (could be hot!) or other issues (could be poop!) could ruin that.
Four runs, 26+ miles. Not bad, but I’m not getting in enough miles to close the gap on where I should be to hit my goal. Marathon training/Dopey training should take care of that in the second half, though. I just don’t want to get too far behind. Saturday’s run was a little rough. It’s definitely started to warm up, and I was caked in crusty salt at the end. Time to get back to using Nuun, which I found very useful a few years ago. Normally on long runs I just have water, but I need to replace electrolytes. Plus, it tastes delicious without being super sweet.
Obviously, I only biked once. I biked on Sunday last week, so I took Monday off, and then this Sunday I was a bit
hungover sick. I biked this morning though, a solid 30 minutes. Getting there!
Plan for this week is four runs and two bikes. I’ve been feeling off lately; some odd chest pains. I don’t think I’m having a heart attack….I’m 35 and I obviously exercise often. It hasn’t impacted working out…I did all my runs last week, my pace didn’t suffer. It just comes and goes, more of an annoyance, but probably worth getting checked out.
